PAINTINGS

l
Kok feels very close to nature. Trees and mountains are recurrent themes in his works, the inspiration for which he finds during hikes in the Alps, Pyrenees and Dolomites and numerous walks in the Limburg countryside.
His work varies from the figurative to the abstract, sometimes resulting in a combination of figurative and abstract forms. Works from recent years show a tendency towards abstraction. The paintings bear a strong emotional charge, which stems from the artist’s personal perception of human interaction, his observation of people and the world they live in, and his observation of nature. This emotional charge is visualized through an exuberant use of colour and strong, expressive lines.
The works on paper have been mounted on acid-free cardboard passepartouts and framed with aluminium or wooden Barth-frames complete with glass.

The paintings have been made using acrylic paint in combination with acrylic pencils on canvas, which has been fastened to a canvas stretcher. Paintings usually come in whitewashed birch wood frames. However, different frames are available on request.
